With sunshine forecast for this weekend of May 3 and 4, 2025, dear explorers, it's time to put away your rain boots and put on your most comfortable sneakers – and also your beekeeping outfit, we'll come back to that! Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a honey lover (or both), or simply looking for an excuse to escape Netflix, we've unearthed the best activities in the department for an exquisite weekend!
Where to start? Let's take you straight away:
1. La Poudrerie, or how to become the star of the food chain
Saturday at 2 p.m., head to the Parc de la Poudrerie in Sevran to discover who eats whom in this jungle (literally!), classified as Natura 2000. With the League for the Protection of Birds as your guide, you'll dive into the fascinating world of predators and prey. A 2.5-hour educational walk that will delight curious parents and children (from 6 years old) transformed into mini David Attenboroughs.
Please note: Free, so no excuse not to come.
2. Mission Bee: your weekend's sweet expedition
Bees: They're small, they work hard, and they make a world of happiness. On Sunday at 2 p.m., head to the roof of Montreuil City Hall to discover an apiary and fully immerse yourself in the lives of our favorite foragers. Put on your gear, get up close to the hives, marvel at their incredible organization, and then finish off in style with a tasting of honey from all over the world. A gourmet bonus: take home some honey candy or a lollipop!
How much does it cost? 30 euros. Don't quibble, it's practically the promise of an amateur beekeeping diploma (we're barely exaggerating).
3. Plants and stories at Beaumonts Park
For budding botanists or simple nature lovers, the Communerbe association invites you to join us on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Parc des Beaumonts in Montreuil for a sensory exploration of wild plants. Sniff, touch, and learn all about their virtues thanks to botanical references... and a hint of green magic. Perfect for impressing your friends at the next picnic with an anecdote like: "Hey, did you know this plant cures headaches?"
Price: 10 euros (or 15 euros solidarity rate to support the association).
4. Medicinal plants and Zen vibes at the Saint-Denis Museum of Art and History
On Sunday at 2:30 p.m., head to the museum for a wellness tour that takes you through the history of medicinal plants. From the Carmelites to today's vegetable gardens, you'll discover how these small natural wonders have healed generations of humans. And since you never leave a workshop empty-handed, finish with a practical lesson on the benefits of these plants.
Price: 6 euros (or reduced to 4 euros – and that’s really a gift).
